Stairlift or Chairlift. What's the Difference?

Stairlift or Chairlift

'Chair lift' and 'stair lift' are interchangeable terms for the same thing. They are products that are attached to the treads of a staircase to enable anyone with mobility problems to get up and down the stairs with ease and allow others to continue using the staircase as normal.

There are lots of different types of stairlifts on the market, and many different stairlift manufacturers. Mobility exhibitions are held throughout the year across the country so that buyers can see what the latest developments are.

A stair chairlift is essential to many, especially elderly, people's lives, enabling them to access other floors of their houses that would be off-limits without one. A stair or chair lift provides peace of mind to users and relatives alike, removing the likelihood of accidents occurring on the stairs and removing the need for helpers to assist in getting up the staircase.

There are stair lifts for curved and straight stairs, and also stairlifts designed for use outdoors, for example on steps that lead up to the main entrance of a house.

A stair lift is also very cheap to run, as it will use a minimal amount of electrical power from a battery, about the same as boiling a kettle.

Chairlifts for stairs or stairlifts for stairs – whatever you choose to call them they transform the quality of life for many people with mobility problems, especially the elderly or disabled.
